Welcome to HaylieeBee Equine.

What Is HaylieeBee Equine?

My blog will follow the day-day life of my own horse, Gigi. Along with product reviews of a range of new and old products available online and in stores. I am hoping to provide useful feedback on some of the most popular equestrian brands out there, including my views and experiences using these products. I'm hoping to be able to provide a range of blog posts from text to video footage. I also hope to provide useful tips and tricks to put to practice with your own horse. Some of my posts may be about training techniques where as others may include my own tips and tricks for other practical activities such as bath time, grooming and tack cleaning.

About Me

My name is Hayley, i'm 21 from Northamptonshire, UK. I currently work in a riding school, caring for a large range of horses. I have recently completed a Bsc (Hons) in Applied Equine Science after completing a Level 3 qualification in Equine Management. I studied at Moulton College after doing my GCSEs as the college offered a well presented course in equestrian care. I found my horse at the college during my last year of the level 3 course. She was kept on the college yard however wasn't very well suited due to how busy the yard can get and the lack of turn out. She was also very green which meant she could be a bit difficult to handle and ride. When i first got Gigi she couldn't canter on her right leg and would often bronk. She is my first pony and has taught me an awful lot about horses. I also like to read articles and expand my knowledge about horses.

Gorsaf Golden Girl (Gigi)

Meet Gigi, she is my 15 year old Welsh Cob. She stands at approx 15hh and is chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. I have owned Gigi for the past 4 years. We currently compete in show jumping up to 1m and are starting to event at the end of September.

I have been competing with Gigi for the past 3 years, she has progressed immensely since i first set eyes on her. At 11 years old she was very green, unbalanced and untrustworthy. She couldn't canter, let alone jump! Now Gigi flies around show jumping and cross country courses, taking me over the fences willingly. This year was her first year experiencing cross country, Gigi goes from strength to strength as she is already clearing 4ft solid fences, ditches, banks and water. I hope to share Gigi's progress in this blog to inspire others and share my methods and techniques with training her to be the great pony she is today.

Carr & Day & Martin: Cornucrescine Ointment For Hair Growth Part One

Overview I'm back with another Carr & Day & Martin review, this has to be my favourite brand for equestrian care products. They make a huge range of products from things you can use on a day-to-day basis to more professional products designed for the show ring. The product featured in this review is their Cornucrescine Ointment. This product is designed to promote healthy hoof growth by being massaged into the coronet band with your fingers or a toothbrush. It is vital to rub the product in properly as the ointment contains keratin producing cells which need to be stimulated. On the tub it also says the product can be used for helping hair re-growth on rubbed patches or scars. I thought as there are already some reviews on its use for hooves I would put it through its paces for the growth of Gigi's mane. Application To apply this product I rubbed a small amount on my first three finger tips, I then pressed them onto my clean fingertips on the other...
